COREY ARCENEAUX & THE ZYDECO FUSION BAND

Accordion Man

The album has achieved remarkable success, topping charts in global world music, roots music, and blues. What makes Accordion Man truly unique is its historic multigenerational handover, featuring all three of his sons as they usher in the fifth generation of the family’s musical heritage—a living, breathing, and continuing legacy.

Accordion Man is more than an album—it is a story that began generations ago and continues through the hands of Corey Arceneaux and his sons! Celebrating 40 years as a fourth-generation Creole accordionist, Corey reaches a powerful milestone with Accordion Man: his first feature recording alongside all three of his sons, bringing the family’s musical legacy into its fifth generation. For nearly 90 years, this Creole musical tradition has been passed from generation to generation—through family, culture, community, and the unmistakable sound of Louisiana Zydeco. The ultimate goal is to bring zydeco where its never been before and make new fans around the world!

Accordion Man is a homecoming to those roots, while also serving as a bridge to new audiences around the world. It honors where the music came from while showing where it can go. This is the sound of a father and his sons. The sound of a family carrying history forward. The sound of Louisiana Creole culture reaching beyond its borders. Through Accordion Man, Corey Arceneaux continues his mission as an International Creole Zydeco Ambassador, preserving, celebrating, and introducing Louisiana’s rich musical heritage to future generations.

Corey Arceneaux is a legendary Zydeco accordionist, vocalist, songwriter, radio personality and creole zydeco ambassador. Performing professionally since 1991. A member of one of the first families of Zydeco, Corey follows in the footsteps of his great-uncle Fernest Arceneaux and great-grandfather Ferdinand Arceneaux. On Accordion Man, Corey is joined by his sons, continuing a 90-year tradition of Creole music into the fifth generation.

Drawing inspiration from Buckwheat Zydeco, and the 'Lafayette Zydeco' sound, Corey's music reflects a deep connection to Louisiana's vibrant culture. He has performed nationally and internationally, including appearances at major festivals like the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival.

Accordion Man was recorded at the Dockside Studio in Maurice, Louisiana with The Zydeco Fusion Band, and Grammy- winning engineer Justin Tocket on recording and mixing.  Featuring Grammy-winning guitarist Joe “Cookie” Chavis, and multiple Grammy nominee Cecil Green, among other master musicians. Family is central to The Zydeco Fusion Band. Desmond Joseph, Corey’s eldest son, plays bass and produces; Tyler Arceneaux, the youngest, produces, drums, and plays scrubboard; Corey Arceneaux, Jr., the middle son, handles production in the control room.
